During our stay in Tiverton Road Mr and Mrs Barstow were extremely helpful. If anything were to go wrong with the house they were there the following day to sort out all of our problems. For many students it is their first time living away from home, so renting from people so friendly and accommodating gives great peace of mind.

We were the first tenants into Gleave Road and were presented with a property in perfect condition complete with new appliances and full security system. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in the house and found Mr Barstow to be extremely diligent and helpful in dealing with any problems or queries we had. Having experienced problems in the past with difficult landlords it was a relief and delight to find a landlord so attentive and fair. Dear Mr and Mrs Barstow, I would like to thank Knowle Lettings for their support over the last two years during my stay at Harborne Park Road. It was reassuring to know that help was only a ‘phone call away had any problems occurred. It is testimony in itself that the four of us were more than happy to renew our contracts and remain at the house for a second year. This allowed me to focus fully on my studies. We really enjoyed life at North Road. It was nice to know that if anything went suddenly wrong with the property, you or John were always contactable and willing to sort out the problem, usually within the next 24 hours (and with no extra cost). It was also handy that our council tax exemption was all taken care of.....us students can be highly forgetful!

We have found Mr & Mrs Barstow to be incredibly helpful if things ever go wrong or get broken. If we need them, they usually arrive the next day and sort the problem out as soon as possible. We've really enjoyed our time at the house and are very sad to leave. These are two very reliable, friendly and helpful people. Mr Barstow can turn his hand to any DIY task known to man we think!!

Andrea and John initially provided a house in very good condition - which can be rare in Selly Oak! Our house was recently refurbished and had new appliances. They always responded to any problems quickly and also refunded our deposits.

Studying abroad can be a rather difficult situation since there are several matters of great importance that need to be taken care of. When having a nice place to stay though, with such kind and helpful landlords as you have been to us, it is much easier to cope with the difficulties which a person studying abroad is likely to experience. The issue of accommodation often brings anxiety to students who study abroad, since it is hard to find a place which will meet their expectations. In our case, however, the issue of accommodation never put any stress on us. We were lucky to have found a pleasant place to stay during our studies and to have had such caring landlords. We, furthermore, would like to express how grateful we are for you taking care of so many things concerning the operation and maintenance of the house. We greatly appreciated your concern to facilitate our student life in England.
